November 7, 2021, exciting news came from the UAE market. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), one of the world's largest oil and gas production companies, officially announced that Sichuan Chuanshi Diamond Drill Bit Co., Ltd. (CSB) has successfully passed ADNOC's qualitative assessment and become an approved supplier. This marks a significant breakthrough for CSB, as it enters the primary market of the global oil industry and becomes the first Chinese PDC drill bit supplier certified by ADNOC.

Three 12-1/4" Golden Shield series PDC drill bits underwent three rounds of trial drilling in the BUHASA and BAB blocks under ADNOC. During the trial, our engineers and technicians faced challenges such as wellbore instability in the UER and SIMSIMA formations and the complex lithology of the RUS formation. We carefully analyzed and calculated the data based on the lithological characteristics and actual conditions, and had multiple communications with colleagues from ADNOC, the drilling contractors, and the directional drilling companies. We made multiple optimizations and improvements to the design. The final performances of all three bits exceeded ADNOC's assessment requirements. The trial drilling work was a complete success, receiving unanimous praise and recognition from ADNOC.
